Home remedies for acne
Following are few home remedies which have been found effective for treating the acne:
MINT: Take a handful of mint leaves and crush them thoroughly. Rub the juice on affected skin and leave for 5-10 minutes. Rinse with cold water.
OATMEAL: Cook a single serving of plain oatmeal and add honey to it. Allow it to cool and apply it as face mask. Leave it for 10 minutes. DO NOT leave it for too long. Else it will become too dry and diffivult to remove.
ALOE VERA GEL: The gel of the aloe vera plant has a soothing effect on acne.
ORANGE PEEL
LEMON JUICE: Mix equal parts of lemon juice and rose water and apply to the skin. DO NOT go in direct sunlight after using lemon juice on face. For oily face, you can replace rose water with cucumber juice. You can also apply finely ground cinnamon powder and lemon juice for treating acne.
HONEY: Mix honey and cinnamon. Apply it to face and keep it overnight. Wash it with luke warm water in morning.
TURMERIC: Mix gram flour, turmeric powder. Add milk and make a paste out of it. Apply it to face and leave it until it dries. Wask it with luke warm water. You can also mix turmeric and mint juice and apply for 15-12 minutes. Sandalwood, milk and turmeric when mixed together in paste forms an excellent remedy for acne.
TOMATO: Apply ripe Tomatoes pulp on acne until it dries. It works wonders on acne.
FENUGREEK: Apply a paste of fresh fenugreek leaves over the face every night for 10-15 minutes and wash with lukewarm water.
NEEM: Make a paste of neem leaves with turmeric and apply it to affected areas. Neem is considered to be one of the best cures for acne.
GARLIC: One of the best cures. Crush garlic and apply the juice little bit on affected areas only. Remember LITTLE bit as it can burn the skin. It it is too strong for you, dilute it little bit with water and then apply.
EGG WHITE: Dab egg white on your pimple and leave on for at least 20 minutes . Another simple home remedy for acne.

Water - It really helps

Personal Hygiene
You will find many websites saying that personal hygiene has nothing to do with acne. Believe it or not but personal hygiene DO play an important role in overcoming acne. In my case i never realised dandruff can be the reason of acne until i contacted dermatologist and he advised me to take head bath three times a week. The pimples were reduced significantly in one month. If possible, have your hair cut short. It is better to use separate bath and face towels. Also do not share your towels with others. There are many other things you should take care of like changing and washing the pillow cases twice or thrice a week. Wash your face atleast twice a day with antibacterial soaps. Remember not to overdo this else your skin may become too dry. Do not touch/ scrub your face frequently as this can spread germs all over your face. Me too used to have habit of touching it again and again while working to check if it has reduced or not. Count on me, doing this will make the situation worse. Always wear sunscreen before you go in sun. Before going to bed, remove all your make-up as it can cause acne infections. Never ever try to pop out pimples/ zits on the face.
